ANIMAL CARE ATTENDANTS
We're hiring full-time and part-time Animal Care Attendants at Safe Place for Animals, an animal rescue shelter/pet adoption center in Gallatin, TN.
Responsibilities:
•Care for and interact with the shelter dogs and cats
•Tend to and clean the dog kennels and cat rooms
•Laundry (blankets and towels) and wash pet dishes
•Keep dogs' and cats' bowls filled with fresh water and food
•Leash walk dogs and rotate individual dogs and dog groups for potty breaks and outside exercise/play time in fenced yards
•Introduce dogs and cats to potential adopters
•Other responsibilities as needed
Qualifications:
•Be at least 18 years old
•Be dependable, hard-working, focused, be able to multi-task and work well with others (both people and animals)
•Be able to physically work on your feet the majority of the day (both inside and outside), lift and carry heavy items, and dogs if needed
•Have reliable transportation
•And most importantly, must love animals!
The hours for the Animal Care Attendants include between 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. Full-time and part-time positions available.

VETERINARIAN
Safe Place for Animals Veterinary Clinic is growing and hiring a Veterinarian to expand our team. We are seeking a compassionate, experienced full-time or part-time Veterinarian to provide comprehensive medical care to our vet clinic’s established and growing client base, as well as our shelter animals. Our vet clinic specializes in small/companion animals, particularly dogs and cats.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Examine, diagnose and prescribe/treat illness, disease and injury
• Annual/routine wellness and health status exams and care
• Administer vaccinations and implant microchips
• Conduct diagnostics (blood, urine, fecal, etc.)
• Prescribe and dispense medication
• Sedation, anesthesia and perform general surgery to include: spay and neuter, dental procedures, growth removal, etc.
• Euthanasia
• Advise/consult pet owners on nutrition, preventive healthcare and general pet care
• Record actions by documenting and updating forms, reports, client/patient records
• Ensure compliance with veterinary procedures, ethics, policies and relevant statutes
Qualifications:
• DVM, licensed to practice medicine in the state of TN
• Ability to complete full medical work-ups and perform surgery independently

PET GROOMER
Safe Place for Animals is seeking a compassionate and experienced full-time or part-time Pet Groomer.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Cutting/trimming/shaving dogs’ and cats’ hair per the pet owner’s specific style requests and needs, trimming their toenails, bathing them and fluff drying and/or setting up and monitoring them while being dried. The Groomer also needs to maintain a clean and organized environment including sweeping, mopping and general cleaning and up-keep of the grooming area. This job can be physically demanding, including standing, lifting heavy pets and sometimes handling anxious pets. The Groomer needs to be dependable, hard-working, focused, detail-oriented, able to work well with others (both people and animals) and patient and caring with their pet clients.
Previous grooming experience is required. Pay is based on experience.
