Diana,
I thought that I would take a minute and let you know that “our girl” is doing well. She is still startled by everything that moves, but she hasn’t had a meltdown since I brought her home. She is getting along well with her two older “sisters”, but she just doesn’t understand why they don’t want to run (and run and run and run and run) and play outside. She loves to chew bones and toys and food! I have had to let her collar out because she has put on a pound or two. I think that she is beginning to enjoy going for rides, even without the White Castles! We are trying to work up to an obedience class, but I’m not going to put her in any situation that she is not ready for. I have already consulted the trainer and we agree that she needs to observe a lot of different things without feeling threatened. Last week, she noticed a car beside us at a red light, and when she realized that there was a person in the car, she tried to climb across the console and get in my lap. (I am so glad that you showed me that trick of putting the leash in the door!) I hope that everything is going well for you and all the animals. May everyone find a place to belong.
Take care,
Patricia
